Reducing Speeding and Cut-Throughs

The Safety and Security Committee is currently soliciting resident interest in submitting a petition with the City of Brookhaven to install traffic calming devices such as speed bumps or speed tables in our neighborhood to try to reduce the speed of vehicles traveling in our neighborhood, as well as to discourage the high volume of traffic that uses our neighborhood as a cut-through.  The overall process includes gathering signatures from at least 50% of the residents on any of the public streets in our neighborhood where speeding is a concern.  Following this step, the city will conduct a traffic survey to validate the need for, and type of, traffic calming devices that could be installed.
